It's All Mental!

Pageants can sometimes be a personal mental challenge, throughout the months of preparation and through the week of competition. During preparation your stressed with preparing to become the best version of yourself that you can be. During pageant week, your week is long, your days are longer, you do not get much sleep, and you become physically and mentally overworked. So all this can add to your mental health status.

That is why it’s very important to control where your mind can take you. Easy suggestions that can help this is social media! Although social media can be a great marketing tool and wonderful way to keep up with family and friends, it can also be damaging to your thoughts and self- esteem if you don’t use it wisely. This is why I suggest during the months or preparation and competition week, that you let your news feed, feed you!

This is allot easier than it sounds! A helpful tip is to fill up your news feed on your social media with only things that are motivating and encouraging to you. Follow people that inspire you. If a fellow “Friend” is unsupportive than hide their newsfeed and comments. If fellow contestants are intimidating to you, hide theirs as well! You can still friend and support others, but you do not have to let it have to drain you. Be so busy with your family, your careers, and your passions that you don’t have time to waste scrolling through your newsfeed. During this time of preparation and even competition week, a great way to stay mentally strong, is to control your surroundings and keep your mind focused and strong and a good way to do that is by letting your news feed, feed you, because sometimes pageantry, can be all mental!
